Role Descriptions & Responsibilities

The Machine Learning team within Dassault Systemes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot system develops AI solutions using capabilities provided through BIOVIA's Pipeline Pilot to address industry applications.
As an intern on the team, you will have access to our advanced tools and technologies within Pipeline Pilot, enabling you to actively contribute to innovative projects, gain hands-on experience in leveraging these tools to develop novel features, and make a meaningful impact on the team's objectives.
This work will expose you to the widely adopted scientific development platform, Pipeline Pilot, and innovative research topics in machine learning, particularly deep learning algorithms for processing image and tabular data.
As part of your role, you will develop components that incorporate machine learning algorithms for research and industry applications, enabling scalable scientific data processing pipelines using an intuitive graphical interface.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with the quality assurance team to ensure automated test coverage of new functionalities.
You will also participate in discussions with product management and customer-facing teams on product direction and new features.
Areas of interest for potential projects include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Advanced medical image processing.
  • Video processing and analytics.
  • Leveraging image annotation tools.
  • State-of-the-art deep learning algorithms for processing tabular data.
  • Creating and presenting a 30-minute summary of your internship achievements.

Qualifications



  • Graduate student in computer science, electrical engineering, data science, or other related technical fields with active enrollment at a college/university.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms, with a focus on deep learning algorithms for processing tabular and/or image data.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Familiarity with Python libraries such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, OpenCV, scikit-learn, pandas, and other common libraries for working with tabular and/or image data.
  • Understanding of data-driven modeling and statistics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of web development tools for building user interfaces is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork skills, scientific curiosity, concise and impactful communication, and a desire to develop high-quality software.
  • Ability to work onsite for the duration of the internship.



This is a paid 3 month internship is at our San Diego, CA office with a flexible start date.

Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $22 and $40 per hour.
