Communications Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization's desired reputation. We're looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you'll advance your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports victim service providers.

As a communications specialist on our team, you'll closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to provide tailored, victim-centered, and trauma-informed assistance.

As a collaborator on all aspects of oral and written communications, you'll author a variety of communications products, including newsletter articles, fact sheets, presentation materials, website content, and promotional resources. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with tools such as Microsoft 365, Amazon Pinpoint, Zoom for Government, and Adobe InDesign.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience providing communications support to clients, including technical writing and editing

  • Experience with webinar production and logistics, including the ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and exhibit technical expertise with Zoom

  • Ability to research and draft original content for a variety of communications channels, vehicles, and audiences, while adjusting voice and information levels to suit audience needs

  • Ability to learn new software tools and increase knowledge over time

  • Public Trust

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience managing a public-facing web presence, including content management and development

  • Experience with project management

  • Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of communication materials.

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and with project partners and stakeholders

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Vetting:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
