Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer who loves to live in the details and specializes in creating, maintaining, and evolving Design Systems for digital products. Reporting to the VP, Product Design, the Product Designer is responsible for defining the design system architecture, insuring/instilling best practices to maximize the extensibility of components while ensuring the latest accessibility practices are inherent in every experience we ship to consumers, internal agents, and front-line workers. This role collaborates closely with the VP of Product Design, Brand, UX Research, other product designers, and our Engineering partners to evolve our Design System libraries and maximize the product development benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Define and evangelize standards, practices, and the benefits of Design Systems
  • Create, own and maintain the architecture for our Design Systems
  • Integrate existing libraries into new Design System architecture
  • Work with other designers to review their components and to guide them to the best practices
  • Stay current on Accessibility guidelines and trends and ensure compliance in our styles and components
  • Collaborate with UX Research to ensure usability and accessibility for styles, components, patterns, and interactions
  • Collaborate with Engineering partners to maximize product development benefits of Design Systems
  • Coordinate with Brand to keep our Design Systems in sync with brand evolution
  • Constantly be evolving the design systems and enabling Product Development
Qualifications
  • 5-8 years Product Design Experience
  • 3+ years with specialized focus on Design Systems
  • Expert in color theory, typography, iconography
  • Versed in mobile and desktop interaction patterns
  • Mastery of Figma Design System tools
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work (link must be provided in application or candidate will not be considered)
  • A scrutinizing eye for design
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Accurate time estimation and timely delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience designing and prototyping micro animations is a plus

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $133,661.00-$219,586.00/year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
