Job Overview

The Legal Analyst III works on a team that is responsible for creating a range of content (emails, charts, guides, policies, etc.) on federal, state, and local employment law statutes and regulations. We also maintain the accuracy of existing legal content and assist client-facing teams with legal analysis and interpretation.

The legal analyst's primary responsibility is legal research and analysis followed by creation of original content that will help our clients-usually HR practitioners with no legal knowledge-navigate their compliance obligations. This role requires exceptional reasoning, writing, and editing skills.

Both broad and deep familiarity with employment law and HR concepts are necessary for this role. We are engaged in a constant balancing act to determine what information, and how much of it, will best serve our clients. Because of this, the person in this role will need to be able to operate decisively (and concisely) in gray areas.

The ideal candidate will be an active team member who helps us continually improve our content. They will be comfortable working in a client-focused, fast-paced environment. They will have a proven record of understanding and writing accurately and concisely about legislation and policy matters, meeting deadlines, demonstrating flexibility when moving from one task to another, and working as part of a cohesive team.

About Our Team

The Legal Analysis team consists of three attorneys (soon to be four!), three dogs, and two cats spread out across the United States. We work very closely, with frequent and informal meetings, as all of our content is subject to the two (or more) sets of eyes rule. We think we're hilarious and value a good laugh as highly as we value the Oxford comma. Extra hours are rarely required and we'll treat you like an adult with respect to time away from your computer or "the office."
