Maintenance Tech / Fixed Equipment

HF Sinclair Casper Refining is seeking a maintenance technician to work with fixed equipment. Technician will serve as a subject matter expert for all issues pertaining to fixed machinery in the refinery and provide input on the maintenance, design, and recommendations for equipment, systems and parts. This role requires a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.

• Safely install and repair components of pipe and vessel systemsincluding valves, flanges, pressure vessels, exchangers, and similar equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and piping systems using technical manuals and drawings.
• Perform maintenance on fixed equipment such as furnaces, boilers, towers, and heat exchangers.
• Operate motorized and hoisting equipmentincluding forklifts and man-lifts.
• Fabricate and install piping systems using appropriate tools and techniques for various materials and sizes.
• Utilize hand and power tools, shop machinery, and oxy-acetylene tools for fabrication and maintenance tasks.
• Perform rigging, hoisting, and mechanical joint assembly activities, safety and with precision.
• Clean and assemble furnace burners to optimize efficiency.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance for steam tracing, traps, and headers.
• Collaborate in team settings to share knowledge and improve reliability and maintenance processes.
• Setup and operateshop andfield powered tools such as: threading & cutting machines, drilling, tapping, grinding, air, andpressure testing equipment.
• Adhere to safety practices, environmental protection guidelines, and company policies at all times.
• Follow-through on commitments made to others.
• Create and maintain a clean and well-organized professional-looking work area.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

A minimum of 5 to 7 years of on-the-job experience working as a fixed equipment mechanic is required.

High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED)

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Associate Degree in an industrial related field.

Proficient in computer usage including Microsoft Office Suite and computer maintenance management software (i.e. SAP) or similar maintenance management software.

Refinery based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse /plant environment, out-of- doors environment, and driver-based environment including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and working in confined spaces and rotating equipment. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions.
