About the Job

Job Responsibilities:

100%: Administrative Operations:

  • Independently initiate communication to build relationships with potential donors, collaborating clinical departments in the Medical School, and other colleges at the University of Minnesota, to solicit donations.
  • Create connections with potential donors to solicit donations with SCI Directors and department heads.
  • Maintain accounting of donations subaccounts for each SCI-department collaborator.
  • Generate annual reports on donations.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the University of Minnesota Foundation, coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with the Stem Cell Institute's goals.
  • Lead communication efforts between the Stem Cell Institute and the public by proactively answering complex questions, handling issues, and promoting the Institute's programs.
  • Oversee and drive updates and changes to the Stem Cell Institute website to ensure accurate and current information such as independently managing the posting of Stem Cell Institute Seminar information to the website.
  • Develops and prepares budgets and financial reports for sponsored and/or non-sponsored accounts.
  • Plan, manage, and oversee visits to the Stem Cell Institute by scientists from other institutions, ensuring seamless coordination and a positive experience.
  • Participate actively in program and administrative planning, and oversee the execution of scientific symposiums and other events.
  • Lead the coordination and planning of the annual Stem Cell Institute Retreat and Symposium, driving the successful execution of these events.
  • Acts as representative of the unit/administrator on specifically assigned matters.
  • Represents functional areas to internal and external agencies and partners.
  • Hire and supervise work/study students to assist in administrative tasks, providing guidance and leadership to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS with six years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 10 years; applies knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve and provide input on process improvements.
  • Demonstrates experience handling a wide range of administrative related tasks with a commitment to professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills to organize and present complex information collaboratively with diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google applications, Adobe Acrobat with the capability to learn new systems as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in administrative support in a medical research setting.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-guided, goal-oriented, and mindful of deadlines.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $73,000 - $78,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
