CAS is currently seeking a Software Engineer. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Position Summary:

The CAS Search Engine Complex team is seeking a Software Engineer to maintain an existing, mature software application. This position includes enhancing existing software, troubleshooting and fixing bugs, supporting production operations, and consulting/collaborating with other teams, including CAS Customer Support, on the behavior of the SEC system.

Job Accountabilities:



  • Provide development and operational support for external and internal products to increase availabability and reliability of our products. This involves developing enhancements and features for the software base, configuring, and deploying new software, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues when things break.
  • Continuously look for ways to optimize and automate work.
  • Develop tools as needed to accomplish new tasks that come up
  • Handle a variety of assignments and requests that come from various customers


Qualifications:



  • 4-year degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience developing with C++ and C
  • Experience with Linux / Unix debugger (i.e., gdb)
  • Experience with Linux system calls in addition to general Linux usage
  • Experience with distributed architectures
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing, high growth environment
  • Ability to work with urgency while staying calm and focused when resolving issues
  • Ability to understand and work with strong attention to the details
  • Quick learner with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Willing to provide 7x24 on-call support on a rotational basis with team members
  • Collaborates with teammates in grooming backlogs of epics and stories for upcoming sprints.
  • Remains current on the latest technology trends through individual and team training opportunities.


      Nice to Have:



      • Experience using ClearCase or other source code repository
      • Java expertise
      • Experience with scripting languages (Perl, shell)
      • Experience with JetBrains Clion IDE for C/C++
      • Understanding of fault tolerance and reliability concepts
      • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence

        Education
        Bachelors of Computer Science (required)
        Experience
