Qualifications

Position Summary: The shuttle driver will ensure safe and reliable transportation of students between the campus and local student activities. Sometimes, the shuttle driver may provide transportation for company events requiring shuttle service. They will follow company standards for resident satisfaction, safety, and security. The driver will demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting the service needs of both internal and external customers, consistently representing the company professionally and courteously.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Coordinate and prepare for all trips and resident outings. Must be able to learn and remember pick-up and destination points. Knowledge of main attractions in the area and local events. Maintain knowledge of all property parking lot entrances and exits, commonly traveled streets, and local highways.
  • Assist with company employees' transportation during local events that require shuttle service.
  • Assists residents in boarding and exiting the vehicle, using the proper tools as necessary and following the safety guidelines; assists residents with baggage on and off the shuttle bus as needed.
  • Monitors records and immediately reports needed maintenance repairs to the Community Manager, including regular oil changes, tire rotation/replacement, etc.; practices safety procedures at all times, including wearing a seat belt and obeying all traffic laws.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shuttle van, including washing the windows and windshields, vacuuming the interior, removing garbage, etc.
  • When not performing shuttle bus duties, the driver will be required to perform other duties as assigned by the property's general manager.


Minimum Qualifications/Skills:



  • Ability to transport students/residents to campus and occasional local events such as ballgames, theater events, etc.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license (or CDL if applicable) and clean MVR
  • Ability to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and discretion, and the ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Strong organization and time management skills



Work Schedule: Generally 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday, or as needed to meet business needs. Ability for nights and weekends as scheduled to accommodate resident events/resident transportation needs.

This job generally operates in a professional office environment, but may also occasionally operate in an outdoor environment. While performing the duties of this job, employees must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time, occasionally move about the office, constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, communicate regularly and effectively with others, both written and verbally, and may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.

This position requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
