JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: University Health Services at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Part-time Temporary Ultrasonographer to join their team. They are responsible for independently performing technical procedures using diagnostic ultrasound equipment to evaluate disease processes. Responsible for obtaining quality images, following established protocols and regulations. Must be familiar with digital radiology equipment, Picture Archiving Systems (PACs), Electronic Medical Records and various software programs. Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the ultrasound and disinfecting equipment, perform quality control and quality assessment testing to ensure patient care and safety. Prepare patients for examinations, obtain, and provide diagnostic examination records for the reading radiology group. Maintain all related files and records following Penn State University and HIPAA guidelines. Must be detail oriented, display excellent time management skills, commitment to fostering a diverse environment, empathetic and able to communicate effectively to patients and peers. Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher and 3+ years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound program, be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), be in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(ARRT). This is a Part-time temporary position. Will work 16-32 hours per week from mid March 2025 to mid October 2025. This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
