As a Smart Justice Adult Career Advisor, you will be providing case management services to adults enrolled in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. You will work in a fast-paced, high-volume, performance-based environment throughout Maricopa County including jails, prisions and probation sites. You will utilize assessments, career coaching, job search assistance, and resource referrals to assist our participants. We Require
One year of experience in employment, training programs, case management, career development activities, reentry services, or equivalent social service programs Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, justice studies, business administration, education, social work, psychology, or a related field A combination of post-secondary education and/orjob-related experience may substitute for theminimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire Must complete a background check and fingerprint identification upon hire to secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card; must have the ability to obtain a jail security clearance card

Job Contributions
Assess participants' barriers to employment and arrange available area resources and supportive services as needed, including transportation, education, and emergency assistance Create, update, and maintain accurate participant case notes and files Meet with participants one-on-one or in a group enrollment setting to review applications and determine if the customer meets WIOA eligibility requirements Advise participants regarding secondary education, post-secondary training, resume development, and permanent employment opportunities Conduct program orientations, informational seminars, and one-on-one sessions with participants Assist participants in developing career and education action plans Perform and interpret academic and work readiness evaluations and assessments Provide and track referrals to program partners and community-based service providers Provide intensive, sustained one-on-one support and guidance to a caseload of justice-involved individuals Provide labor market information on in-demand occupations Conduct presentations for justice-involved individuals who temporarily reside within state and County facilities Assist with job fairs, resource fairs, and other program events
Working Conditions
Work is performed in various environments, including ARIZONA@WORK-Maricopa County Career Centers, non-profit organizations, jails, prisons, and detention centers This position will conduct community outreach and participate in career or education events in a variety of neighborhoods as well as indoor and outdoor settings on occasion Will require travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles or private vehicles used on County business Evening and weekend work as needed to meet program requirements The position may be periodically reassigned to various work locations based on business needs
