Job Summary: The Senior Associate, Valuation & Capital Markets Analytics - Complex Financial Instruments is responsible for working within a team environment to actively assist in the analysis and resolution of client matters while taking direction and receiving guidance from management members. This role is charged with execution and delivery of challenging valuation and appraisal engagements by participating in all aspects of the project from initial proposal preparation through marketing and concluding with the presentation of final analyses. In addition, this role will be charged with assisting with business development activities and appraisal reviews. Job Duties:
- Assists with the delivery of projects related to the valuation of illiquid and complex securities, hard-to-value assets, financial derivatives (including over-the-counter derivatives), and structured products.
- Constructs financial models used in the valuation of complex financial instruments for financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance, transaction support, and corporate strategy
- Uses mathematical and statistical financial models for valuations of multiple asset classes including complex securities, options, derivatives, and credit instruments, including but not limited to, Monte Carlo simulations and Lattice Models
- May aid in the delivery of services related to hedge advisory, strategic assessment, model validation, economic studies, and other advisory projects
- Prepares necessary exhibits and memos in illustration of complex issues
- Composes narrative reports in support of valuation analyses
- Documents and maintains all appropriate aspects of work product
- Ensures quality controls are adhered in association with all work products
- Participates in internal and external client meetings
- Performs related company, industry, and economic research
- Assists and provides guidance to peers and staff members in the development of project plans and timelines for deliverables

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor's degree, required
- Focus in Accounting, Finance, Financial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Economics, preferred
- Graduate Degree or relevant credential (e.g., FRM, CFA), preferred
Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of experience within an accounting firm, independent advisory firm, bank or other financial services firm, preferred
- Experience with valuation of complex financial instruments (complex securities) or derivatives, preferred
- Prior experience in financial reporting valuation and appraisal review, preferred
- Experience in business valuation and intangible assets, preferred
License/Certifications:
- CFA, FRM, CPA, AM, ASA or other valuation industry credentials, preferred
Software:
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, required
- Prior experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, SNL, or Bloomberg, preferred
- Prior experience with Intex, Moody's Analytics, Crystal Ball, R, Python and other industry software, preferred
- Proficiency in one of the following statistical software packages: Matlab, Stata, Octave, Mathematica, etc., preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $85,000 - $100,000 Maryland Range: $85,000 - $100,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $85,000 - $100,000
