Summary of Position

Kinsley Construction is seeking qualified individuals for our growing concrete crews within our Site Division to fillconcretefinisher & skilled laborerpositions. Successful applicants should be motivated individuals with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Inspect and verify the construction of concrete forms to ensure proper alignment and structural integrity.
  • Set up concrete forms to the specified pitch, depth, and alignment accurately.
  • Install reinforcing rebar or wire mesh to enhance the structural integrity of the concrete.
  • Utilize various tools such as rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, and floats to spread level, and smooth concrete surfaces.
  • Monitor environmental conditions including wind, heat, or cold to effectively manage the curing process and achieve a durable, smooth, and uniform finish.
  • Employ brooms to create rough concrete surfaces as needed.
  • Shape expansion joints and edges using appropriate tools such as edging tools, jointers, and straightedges.
  • Coordinate and signal with truck drivers to ensure proper positioning for concrete pouring and direct the concrete chute accordingly.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as required to support project requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous construction experience, specifically in concrete work.
  • Perform physical activities requiring significant use of arms, legs, and full body movement, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and material handling.
  • Utilize hands and arms for handling, installing, positioning, and manipulating objects.
  • Understand and comply with both oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, subcontractors, vendors, and others encountered during work.
  • Execute various manual tasks for extended periods, even in unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to reach assigned job sites.
  • Arrive punctually for work with all necessary tools prepared.
