This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Responsible for a multi-disciplinary subsystem of complex rotating machinery while collaborating with numerous other engineering disciplines.
  • Analysis and design of rolling element bearings, magnetic bearings, hydrostatic bearings, and bearing sump designs.
  • Innovate and test oil and fuel lubrication skids for bearing and sump applications.
  • Collaborate with top-tier bearing suppliers to procure hardware that meets our high standards.
  • Correlate inspection data of post-run bearings with predictions to drive improvements in designs and modelling.
  • Lead laboratory experiments for design verification that pave the way for groundbreaking advancements.
  • Monitor health, durability, and performance our sophisticated bearing systems in wide variety of rotating machinery applications.

Required Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of Tribology (lubrication, friction, and wear) and thermomechanical analysis of bearing systems.

  • MS in Engineering with a focus on bearings and 5 years of related experience, or BS in Engineering with 8 years of experience in turbomachinery bearing design and analysis.

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, rotating wrist, using tools/equipment).
