POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: Ground Support Equipment Coordinator DATE: January 2025

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt DEPT: MA

LOC: Delaware


POSITION SUMMARY: The Ground Support Equipment Coordinator reports to the Logistics Manager and is responsible for establishing and maintaining a formal schedule to perform routine inspections and maintenance as well as on-demand repairs of tooling and ground support equipment used by the MA Programs; is responsible for repairs, overhauling, troubleshooting, and maintaining ground support equipment in a safe working condition; conducts preventative maintenance keeping U.S. Government, Boeing, company tools and support equipment in safe and established working conditions by operating in compliance with company safety practices and performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage and track the entire MA ground support equipment fleet IAW Summit GSE Procedure.
  2. Recognize and perform maintenance activities to ensure that tooling and ground support equipment are safe, reliable and ready for use on the shop floor.
  3. Deliver GSE to the shop floor and coordinate with department leads to complete maintenance objectives and requirements.
  4. Outsource maintenance and repairs at the approval of the Logistics Manager.
  5. Execute work orders and Purchase Orders to upgrade, repair or purchase existing tools, equipment, and systems utilizing Corridor.
  6. Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements to satisfy customer needs.
  7. Develop and implement periodic inspection/maintenance program to ensure serviceability and safety of equipment on a consistent scheduled basis, including maintenance/inspection methods and standards.
  8. Execute preventative maintenance per the established standard schedule.
  9. Utilize Q-pulse and Microsoft Excel for records management to include daily checks, inspections, maintenance, certifications, calibrations, load tests, hydraulic sample reports and other historical records.
  10. Configuration control/management (e.g., Time Compliance Technical Orders, Service Bulletins, recalls of commercial equipment, safety alerts, etc.).
  11. Implement corrosion control program for GSE.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have the ability to interact with and enter data into spreadsheet software.

Vehicle Experience: To safely operate or have the ability to learn how to safely operate Forklift, Scissor lift, Tugs and other equipment, as necessary.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team environment and self-direct work. Must be proficient with the use of hand tools and have a mechanical background.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to sit; walk, talk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions such as extreme cold and heat, work near moving mechanical parts and vibration and work in high, precarious places. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and work with explosives. The noise level in the work environment falls within acceptable limits of OSHA guidelines.
