Under the direction of the Program Director and Sr. Administrator, the Education Coordinator will support research team and People with Lived Experience with disabilities (PWLEs) associated with FAB Center within the Department of Family and Community Medicine. The incumbent assesses and directs a wide range of issues including planning, recruiting trainees, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, and communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Mentoring PWLEs - Assisting them with attending virtual and in person events related to work on PADDC and HRSA grants, collaborating on presentations, ensuring input from CAB on all curriculum and events related to PADDC grant
  • Moderating and organizing Project ECHO with particular focus on involvement of PWLEs
  • Working with team to develop educational modules that will be shared across the state of PA with health professionals
  • Developing and executing a recruitment plan to foster use of modules
  • Facilitating live Q and A sessions related to modules and care of patients with IDD, again with focus on involvement of PWLEs
  • Working with medical students and residents involved in AOCs to improve engagement and communication with patients with IDD and identifying community and therapeutic resources that improve their care.
  • Work with research team on data collection, analysis and dissemination of results
  • Provides grant support to projects per the grant goals and objectives i.e with reference manager, and produce, assist grant submission and progress reports.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Master's Degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Public Health, or Special Education preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's trained individual with skills in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
  • Interest/experience - basic research/evaluation, literature review, teaching/working with health professionals,
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Comfort working with an interdisciplinary team,
  • Can work independently and take initiative
