OVERVIEW
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client's team as a Senior Scientist in Saint Paul, MN. The Senior Scientist will play a critical role in the Science and Technology analytical chemistry laboratory, specializing in Extractable and Leachable (E&L) analysis. The position requires expertise in liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) to support project-based initiatives in the medical device industry. Their work will have a direct impact on the organization and the larger clinical industry, making this an amazing career opportunity. RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform LC/MS, GC/MS, and ICP analysis for E&L studies, including method development and optimization. * Conduct accurate compound identification, quantification of unknowns, and analysis of target compounds. * Prepare samples and operate mass spectrometry instrumentation, including LC, GC, and ICP systems. * Process complex MS data to generate reliable and reproducible results. * Collaborate with team members to execute analytical chemistry projects and meet deadlines. * Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to regulatory and quality guidelines (ISO 10993, GDP, GLP). * Provide technical expertise and support to troubleshoot and resolve analytical challenges. EXPERIENCE 5+ years of experience in LC/MS, GC/MS, and/or ICP instrumentation, preferably in a regulated environment. EDUCATION Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.Sc.) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field; a B.Sc. with significant experience will be considered. To be a best-fit your strengths must include: * Proven expertise in E&L studies, including method development and validation. * Strong knowledge of ISO 10993 standards, GDP, and GLP guidelines. * Demonstrated ability to process and interpret complex MS data. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment. * Familiarity with medical device industry requirements. * Experience with additional analytical techniques or instrumentation.
