Responsible for overseeing, managing and coordinating the daily operations CT, MRI and Radiology departments within the Lawrence and Memorial Delivery Network including Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, Westerly Hospital, Pequot Heath Center, Crossroads Imaging and future established sites. Maintains performance standards at acceptable levels, makes effective recommendations concerning hiring, corrective action, and evaluations of assigned personnel. Assures employees are providing healthcare in a professional, compassionate, and cost-effective manner. Demonstrates the ability to assertively pursue necessary information and to function independently to secure resolution on staff and patient issues. Projects a mature problem-solving attitude while dealing with interpersonal conflict, dissatisfied patients and demands.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to analyze clinical processes related to patient flow, resource utilization and productivity.
  • 2. Acts as functional subject matter expert in the areas of operations and efficiencies.
  • 3. Predict emerging customer needs and participate in the development of innovative solutions to meet those needs.
  • 4. Analyzes, plans, reports and presents quality analytics.
  • 5. Hire, mentor, coach and issue corrective action to staff.
  • 6. Responsible for ensuring all departments meet regulatory and licensure requirements.
  • 7. Oversee, monitor, ensure, and enforce regulatory compliance.
  • 8. Submits, maintains, and monitors operational and capital budget. Develops strategies to positively impact results.
  • 9. Analyzes trends to recommend program, process and operational improvements.
  • 10. Conducts special projects.
  • 11. Able to interpret market data trends. Participate in the development of business strategy.
  • 12. Research and provide feedback for positive resolution of patient and /or provider complaints. Oversee and assist in the research & resolution of issues for & from provider offices, radiologists, transcription and billing
  • 13. Develop business proposals to support business needs in partnership with finance leadership.
  • 14. Collaborates with ancillary and support departments .
  • 15. Analyzes staffing productivity and effectiveness. Implements necessary adaptations to support.
  • 16. Oversee responsibilities for employee schedules and staffing.
  • 17. Oversees development and maintenance of daily operational reports
  • 18. Demonstrates extraordinary ability to perform the technical skills of the job.
  • 19. Participates in professional development programs to remain current in healthcare practices, trends, and regulations. Educates staff as changes occur. Provides staff in-service as appropriate.
  • 20. Attends weekly team meetings to discuss team and projectrelated activities,issues,change, communications, and updates.
  • 21. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor?s degree required; master?s degree preferred. Six Sigma, LEAN preferred

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years of increasingly responsible managerial experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of clinical operations and project management is required.

LICENSURE

Valid State of Connecticut Radiologic Technologist license, CT or MRI licensure preferred

SPECIAL SKILLS

Demonstrated skills in successful communication, conflict resolution, delegation, operations, project management, facilities planning, and collaboration across complex healthcare settings.
