KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Receive application engineering support requests from account managers and business development.
  • Assist with product selection in standard and special applications, particularly special or difficult fan selections.
  • Assist representative in pricing of special accessories and buyouts.
  • Select and price the most effective fans for the application based on specifications.
  • Collaborate with account management and business development to clarify/align technical requirements.
  • Provide the necessary drawings to accompany the quote.
  • Apply guidance from product management to ensure all fans and components are accurately priced.
  • Access the Engineering Department to interpret specifications and customer requirements.
  • Review customer drawings and data.
  • Work directly with vendors to secure costing for buyouts that meet customer specifications.
  • Provide Purchasing Department clear and complete requisitions of special buyout items.
  • Update Special Authorization with buyout and pricing information.
  • Have current technical knowledge of company products and competitors' products.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of buyout items.
  • Have a strong understanding of company products, competition in the market and positioning.
  • Make product and performance suggestions and recommendations to keep our company competitive in the marketplace.
  • Support cross-functional quote development to meet customer needs.
  • Assess end-customer needs and making appropriate technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with account managers & business development on the development of sales quotes.
  • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up to date on corporate competitors.
  • Assess incoming sales opportunities for technical feasibility.
  • Identify and report internal improvement opportunities and external market opportunities.


Qualifications:




  • BA/BS Undergraduate degree in Engineering highly desired or equivalent technical experience
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Work requires professional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to understand and predict the behavior of prospects under different competitive scenarios.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Standard office environment
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach
  • Ability to work extended hours



As a Sales Application Engineer you will be offered pay of $65,000-$72,000 dependent on experience and a quarterly bonus tied to targeted individual and/or department performance.
