Company Description

The Engagement Specialist is a critical role within the CalWORKs Program, supporting management by providing in-depth data analysis and meaningful reports. The role demands a proactive approach towards identifying errors in the system and enhancing data collection, analysis, and reporting. This position also involves close collaboration with other team members and stakeholders, primarily via phone and email.

Job Description
  • Review and schedule new referrals, and update tracking tools daily.
  • Assist with generation of reports, including data gathering via the computer system, printed reports, or other available information.
  • Responsible for processing supportive services including reviewing supportive services journal entries.
  • Enter journal entries in project specific system(s) for supportive services in accordance with State requirements.
  • Communicate with participants daily and engage them to attend their appointments.
  • Provide participants with program overview and information about orientation process.
  • Communicate with project units, business partners and County to verify eligibility, policies, and processes.
  • Perform general office clerk duties.
  • Maintain and reconcile scheduling bank caseloads and tracking tools.
  • Document and update information in project specific system(s) for tasks, supportive services in accordance with State requirements.
  • Review monthly performance reports and take actions as needed
  • Completes monthly contractual and internal operational reports.
  • Maintains complete, accurate and timely case notes and related records in manual and electronic systems.
  • Alerts Employment Case Managers of scheduled determination appointments.
  • Utilize county and company computer data processing systems to efficiently track participants' status.
  • Attends, schedules, supervision meetings to discuss data and participants' status.
  • Identifies and interprets trends or patterns in complex data.
  • Filters and "cleans" data to identify and correct errors in data capture and design.
  • Communicates with internal departments of any data discrepancies.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills, including a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with people from various backgrounds and with various needs
  • Able to multi-task, work independently, with excellent organizational and time-management skills and have strong attention to detail
  • Experienced with Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership skills
  • Capable of working responsibly with highly confidential information
  • Must meet all program requirements for pre-employment as required by Company and/or State regulations.

License/Certification:

  • Valid driver's license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by Company vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier (as applicable per program requirements)

WORK ENVIORNMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands:

  • The ability to stand and or walk continuously.
  • The ability to bend, stoop, crouch, squat, push, pull and reach above head frequently.
  • The ability to use both hands for continuous grasping and for occasional fine manipulation and fingering (for example: use of a computer and or imaging equipment.)
  • The physical ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

Pay Range:

$19.00 - $20.00
