Responsibilities
The IT Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing IT operations within the organization, focusing on IT Asset Management (ITAM), Incident Response, IT Operations Execution, and Disaster Recovery. The role will work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and assist in optimizing operational processes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * IT Asset Management: Maintain an asset repository of all hardware and software using ServiceNow ITAM. Track asset details such as ownership, location, status, and usage. Manage assets throughout their lifecycle-from procurement to disposal. Automate processes for onboarding new assets, managing changes, and retiring assets. Ensure changes in assets are documented and approved through the IT change management process. Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulations. Monitor usage to avoid over-licensing or under-licensing. Assist with cost management including tracking total cost of ownership (TCO) of assets and forecasting costs associated with IT assets. * Incident Response: Handle intake of reported incidents and serves as a primary responder for priority 1 and 2 outage events. Provide analysis and serves as scene commander during team-based investigation and response efforts. Mobilize and direct response teams, stakeholder communication, and collaboration channels. Work closely with IT teams, internal stakeholders, and vendors to ensure timely incident resolution, minimizing impact on operations. * IT Operations Execution: Support ITOM activities in ServiceNow including event management, discovery and mapping, orchestration, cloud accelerate, operational intelligence, service mapping, change and configuration management, and capacity/performance monitoring. * ServiceNow Project Alignment: Lead or assist business unit projects leveraging the ServiceNow platform to streamline and automate operational workflows. Advise and participate in implementation projects involving new or existing ServiceNow modules. Assist in providing training and support to end-users on ServiceNow functionalities. * Disaster Recovery: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement best practices to protect and restore data and systems in the event of a disaster. Create and execute IT runbooks. Create and maintain disaster recovery procedures and documentation.
