NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the Manager, Consumer Loan Processing. The Consumer Loan Processor reviews and validates all reports and member provided documentation to satisfy loan stipulations for all product types and provides the clear to close for all non-equity loans (Auto, boats, RV, credit cards, vehicles, power sports, signature loans, deposits secured loans). Communicates with PFO and/or Specialist to ensure necessary and sufficient information is obtained. Communicates with central loan processing and central loan underwriting to address issues with loan documentation and loan decisions as they arise.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school or equivalent and a minimum of two years of lending, or financial experience or one year of experience with Landmark. Knowledge in consumer lending is preferred.
2. Demonstrated success in independent research and issue resolution.
3. Knowledge and understanding of various loan documents, banking processing standards, best practices, and audit control procedures.
4. Proven ability to consistently complete duties within established time frames in a high-volume environment.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
6. Must have experience or be able to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
8. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Review and validate all documents and reports as required per loan product or stipulated by underwriting.
2. Responsible for satisfying loan stipulations and clear to close for all non-equity loans.
3. Performs proof of income calculations.
4. Updates loan application as necessary, documenting the reason for any changes.
5. Communicates with PFO and/or Specialist to obtain necessary information from member.
6. Communicates with dealers and other financial institutions to resolve outstanding issues preventing a loan from being ready to close.
7. Communicates with Central Loan Processing for additional information or document corrections when necessary.
8. Communicates with Central Loan Underwriting for updated application decisions when necessary.
9. Finds solutions for problems or errors and corrects them.
10. Monitors and promptly replies to all emails, phone calls, and Team chats delivered to the Document Specialist group.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
