Scope of Position Abraxas Power Corp. and EDF Group are seeking a Chief Executive Officer for the the Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Corporation (EVREC) green hydrogen and ammonia project in Central Newfoundland. This is a joint venture between these leading energy transition companies. Reporting to the EVREC Board of Directors, the primary responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is to oversee the development of the planned P2X project in Atlantic Canada, consisting of a utility scale wind + ammonia facility. This senior executive role has ultimate responsibility for the entire project organization through the development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and vision. The CEO will manage the project development team, forecast and maintain the budget, engage with internal and external stakeholders, guide external messaging, facilitate offtake, and progress other development activities required to reach Final Investment Decision (FID) for EVREC. The EVREC project consists of up to 3GW Wind, 2+ GW of Electrolysis, and 1MTPA of Ammonia at an expected cost of approximately $10B. Position will be based in Houston, TX or Toronto, Canada with business travel expected to be 50% overall work time. Business travel will include traveling to Newfoundland. Remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates in select locations. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the development of the project, on time, on budget, and in accordance with all applicable health, safety, contract, quality, and legal requirements; coordinate, supervise, and manage project team consisting of internal resources (i.e., COO, CFO, PMO, Project Managers, etc.) and outside partners such as EPC, subcontractors, consultants, clients, development partners; oversee project administration, including project meetings, document control, submittals, quality control, construction team planning and documentation, and other closeout and commissioning activities.
Fiscal Responsibilities: Oversight and management of project budget, project schedule, project P&L; 3rd party debt and equity financing, contractor payments; and project billings. Supervision of Others Supervision and direction of project staff, including COO, CMO, CFO, Head of HR, Communications, PMO, as well as supervision of external project subcontractors and vendors. Working Conditions: Work time will be spent both on project site (outdoor construction sites) and in an office environment. Travel is expected to be 50% of overall work time. Qualifications
