Full time APP Manager for Acute Care Surgery. 50% Administrative/50% Clinical at this time, subject to change. Monday-Friday, Days, Evenings. Job Duties include:
Oversee team of APP's of Section of Acute Care Sugery which consists of Emergency General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Trauma. Maintains a collaborative and effective communication style to promote teamwork and problem-solving. Coordinates and oversees cross-training of ACS APPs to all three service lines and ensures routine "off-service" scheduling based on guidelines. Assists with financial management such as monitoring expenses, cost containment, budget and data analysis, staffing levels and productivity. May provide analysis to aid in budget formulation. Work involves application of advanced knowledge and skills or patient care. Duties are varied and complex. Accountability to resolve issue as determined by license. Refers only the most complex issues and problems to the supervisor. Follows set guidelines and precedents in the exercise of activities dealing with compliance. No independent judgment is exercised in determining whether an action is in compliance with law guidelines and /or company policies. Position is deemed 'emergency personnel' during emergency weather conditions. Must provide own transportation and travel to primary/secondary Carilion work sites.

What We Require:
Education: Graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years acute care clinical experience highly recommended. Experience in health care management preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Active Virginia licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
