During the Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you will:

  • Conduct time studies of current processes and idea implementation for increased capacity.
  • Streamline processes and materials to reduce cost and increase profit.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities based on observations.
  • Assist with the SAP implementation project. Support setting up new products for production.
  • The student will learn how to read and interpret a drawing as well as how to create fixtures to create a part based on the drawings. The student will also learn to develop an understanding of how to justify capital, labor, and expenses.

Preferred Degree Program:

Mechanical Engineering

Co-op dates: Full-time work for alternating semesters

Eligibility:

The Co-op student must:

  • have at least a minimum GPA of 2.8

Typical office environment with some travel between buildings and to other locations required. May be exposed to loud noises, toxic chemicals, and dangerous machinery when on the plant floor.
