The Sewing Specialist, with minimal supervision, sews and upholsters airplane interiors according to customer specifications and Duncan Aviation approved procedures in a safe and organized work area. In addition, this position completes timely and accurate appropriate documentation. With minimal supervision, uses sewing instruction manuals to sew kit and core seat covers, small seat parts and miscellaneous items (i.e. armrests, headrests shells, curtains, control boots, flight deck armrest and pouches, wind laces, glare shields and crash pads, covers on burn cushions, etc.) for various makes and models of aircraft. 2. With minimal supervision, patterns small seat parts and miscellaneous items (i.e. armrests, headrests shells, curtains, control boots, flight deck armrest and pouches, wind laces, glare shields and crash pads, etc.). 3. With minimal supervision, foams and covers small seat parts and miscellaneous items (i.e. armrests, headrests shells, wind laces, glare shields, crash pads, burn cushions, etc.) for various makes and models of aircraft. Performs minor alterations to seat covers and accessories to improve fit, dimension changes and fit in aircraft as needed. 4. With minimal supervision, prepares seats for reupholstering by stripping all foam and covers using various hand tools according to standard operating procedures. Cleans glue off panels and strips materials from parts. Calculates, orders and monitors minimum material quantities. 5. Assists with training team members to develop job knowledge and improve performance. 6. With minimal supervision researches, prepares, and signs off various documents for record keeping purposes as required by Duncan Aviation approved procedures, manufacturers' maintenance manuals, and FAA regulations (i.e. turnovers, removal sheets, flammability testing, W.O. Sheets, personal training log, FAA 8110-3 & FAA 337's, and other work order related documents supporting the review squawks and expected hours). 7.
