Research Professional 2 - Masonic Institute on Biology of Aging and Metabolism Are you ready to be a part of a cutting-edge research environment? As a key contributor to our Mouse Core, you'll play a vital role in training new laboratory members and ensuring the seamless operation of our research facility. You'll be hands-on with a variety of animal experimentation and molecular biology techniques, making meaningful contributions to groundbreaking aging research. From managing and maintaining our mouse colony to organizing biological samples in our advanced mouse cloud database, you'll be at the center of our research efforts. Your work will include specimen labeling, archiving biological samples, ordering essential supplies, and performing molecular biology techniques like immunoblotting and qRT-PCR. You'll also conduct animal necropsies, tissue preservation, and coordinate the shipment of biological samples, all while meticulously tracking healthspan data to support our discoveries. Beyond daily lab operations, this role offers an incredible opportunity for continuous learning and growth in the fascinating field of aging research. About the Department
Masonic Institute on Biology of Aging and Metabolism Our research program is focused on investigating the underlying causes of aging. We use mouse models extensively, employing both genetic and pharmacologic approaches to interrogate mechanisms of aging. Aging is investigated in vivo by measuring senescence, frailty, organ function and behavior. The candidate will join an exciting research environment in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics and the Institute on the Biology of Aging and Metabolism at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. The position offers exceptional training in animal physiology, aging, age-related disease and pre-clinical testing of drugs. Pay and Benefits
