Job Description Role: The copywriter must be experienced with tailoring content to specific target markets and channels to contribute effectively to the Credit Union's mission-driven initiatives and uphold its core values of integrity, care, growth, and innovation. The ability to strategize and create advertisements, email sequences, sensitive member communications, and dynamic public relations materials that deliver impact and measurable results in a highly fluid environment is critical for success. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Develop, individually and with the support of a strategic partner, a broad range of engaging marketing copy and content materials that are audience-relevant, create a cohesive brand experience, and drive organizational objectives. Present concepts in clear and compelling ways that utilize strong storytelling and persuasive communication skills. Ensure all concepts match the brand tone and voice and deliver key messages. Provide day-to-day support for member and internal communication. Work cross-functionally to ensure clarity and alignment, fact check, resolve ambiguity, and refine communication. In collaboration with the Director of Community Engagement, support and accelerate content development for public relations strategies, including press releases, media pitches, social media channels, and more, to promote a positive image for Gulf Winds. Support the enhancement of the Gulf Winds website, blog, and other digital channels by creating compelling brand content and copy. Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop a voice that displays strong product knowledge and ensures an exceptional user experience. Support Executive-level communication, including annual reports, CEO communications, editorials, and other high-profile pieces. Assist with crisis communications and special projects. Conduct research and follow industry trends to make recommendations for building member engagement and attracting new members. Utilize information to provide points of differentiation and further develop copy that converts. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Performance Measurements:
Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Three years to five years of professional-level experience with copywriting, editing, and proofreading for marketing/advertising. Education: (1) A bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, English, Journalism, or Marketing. Interpersonal Skills: In addition to normal courtesy and tact, a significant level of trust and diplomacy is required. Work may involve motivating or influencing. Outside contacts are essential, and fostering sound relationships is necessary. Must have the ability to receive constructive feedback. This position requires consistent presence in the office to collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities effectively. It requires actively participating in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors. Other Skills: The Copywriter must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent problem-solving and creative-thinking skills. The candidate should be highly motivated and energetic and have an ability to generate innovative and new ideas that compel readers. Experience with writing for digital, social, and email communications is required. Must have the ability to develop and follow an established brand. Must have experience with SEO. Financial industry experience is preferred. Must be capable of researching effectively to gain complete understanding of the Gulf Winds brand, products, and services as well as the Credit Union industry. Physical Requirements: Normally expected to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. After-hours work or travel required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or meetings. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations. Work Environment: The position is based in the office in our Pensacola, Florida, market. It operates primarily in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations. |
