Overview

The Rigging/Weight Test/Sail Loft Supervisor - will assign daily work tasks using WISP, Scheduling work scope and provide supervision to contractor employees in the Services Division (R-6).

The responsibilities of the position require a detailed knowledge of all aspects of rigging and weight test / weight test systems. The individual should poses a strong background in the Navy's JFMM QA requirements where applicable alongside with SUBSAFE requirements. The individual will be expected to interface with Navy, DOD civilians, and a variety of contractor personnel to solve technical, scheduling, and resources issues. The individual will be required to review Navy Technical Work Documents prior to start of work and when work is complete to ensure first time quality.

Daily progress reports to the Government, including use of automated information systems, detailed work status reporting, logistic support interfacing and forecasting completion in support of ships underway schedules is expected. The individual must also be able to forecast material requirements to support the expected work load. The individual will be responsible for labor time recording, scheduling of overtime within prescribed limits and required training for all contractor personnel assigned to Rigging (72A) Weight Test (72D) Sail loft shop (74A). Lastly, the individual will be capable of developing and implementing process improvement initiatives, and is required to possess a DOD secret security clearance.



Qualifications

Required:

    High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, overhaul and repair of Los Angeles and Virginia class submarines
  • Experience in rigging/weight test
  • Candidate must have DOD secret security clearance

Preferred:

  • Experience with JFMM and QA forms associated
  • Experience working with WISP program
  • JFMM QA qualified craftsman / work center supervisor


Skills

  • Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills, and capable of working effectively with senior management, customer personnel and shop / trade personnel.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to work overtime and infrequent travel in support of offsite work.
  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret company policies and procedures
