THE POSITION

Are you ready to begin the next chapter of your career? Do you want to use your care skills to support behavior change? The Department of Human Services (DHS), Torrance State Hospital is seeking Sexual Responsibility and Treatment Program (SRTP) Aides. If you have worked with troubled youth or sex offending youth and adults, we want you to be part of the SRTP team. Our program deals with individuals who were adjudicated of certain sex crimes and are about to reach their 21st birthday, but are still in need of continued treatment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Sexual Responsibility Treatment Program Aide (SRTPA), you will work with residents in individual and group settings carrying out therapeutic daily living activities. You will process resident behavioral plans and monitor daily living activities including bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, and room cleanliness. You will provide instruction and assistance with residents tasked with a prescribed treatment plan. In addition, a SRTPA supports behavioral change and maintains safety protocols. An SRTPA must receive and maintain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and in Mandt, our behavioral crisis intervention model. You will also keep daily logs to document behaviors, difficulties, and positive change as they relate to plan of care goals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Psychiatric or Therapeutic Activities Aide; or
  • Eighteen (18) months of experience in the care, activities and personal guidance of individuals in a behavioral, educational or community-based program.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
