FIELD: Work in the field due to the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the position. Job Overview We are looking for a licensed Industrial Electrician to perform a wide range of skilled electrical work, independently or as a member of a crew, associated with the operation, maintenance, and construction of compressor station and storage field systems and provide work direction and on-the-job training at our Aliso Canyon Facility. Position Objective Successful candidate will be responsible for following established safety procedures and Company guidelines to perform a wide range of skilled electrical work associated with the Transmission & Storage Department. Job Duties Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on electrical protection & control equipment and conduits used in industrial systems and circuits. Lay-out, install, adjust, and maintain all types of electric conduit, raceways, circuits, switches, motors, motor starters, transformers, variable frequency drives, electrical metering, fixtures, grounding systems, resistors, electrical control & relay equipment and other electrical devices. Performs all electrical work in accordance with Engineering specifications, applicable electrical & utility codes, company standards, and local or state codes. All work shall meet industry standards and quality craftsmanship. Works on electrical power and control circuits up to 4160VAC, Motor Control Centers, switchgear, panel boards, general power equipment circuits, and general lighting circuits. Erects and assembles electrical panel structures and portable power generation equipment. Lay-out and install conduits and switch boards, which may involve digging electrical equipment structures, trenches, driving ground rods and pot holing. Tests electrical systems for continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, meggers, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Works on substations, transformers, grounding systems, UPS systems, switchgear, co-generation, switchboard meters, VFD, load banks, electrical regulators and reactors. Analyzes difficulties and troubleshoots & identifies electrical equipment system issues. Sizes wire, circuit breakers, and equipment according to the applicable electrical codes and standards. Inspects contracted electrical work, traces and splices cables. On some assignments provides work direction to other employees and performs various other equivalent or lower grade functions. #scgjobs $53.82-$59.87 Minimum Qualifications
Desired Qualifications Advanced mathematics. Certified in OSHA 20, First Aid-CPR, and NFPA70E. Specialized electrical equipment and tool training (Such as VFD, Soft-starters, and multi-meter, oscilloscopes, etc.). Previous experience in the Gas/Oil Industry. Physical Demands Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting 50 pounds or more with lifting objects in excess of 100 pounds as required. This job requires a significant level of physical strength and endurance needed to effectively and safely perform the job duties as listed above (e.g., upper body/lower body/torso/back strength). Environmental Conditions Work is predominately outdoors or in an engine/equipment and generator & motor control room. Inside work is in temperature and non-temperature controlled environments with exposure to electrical and mechanical equipment; Outdoor assignments may be exposed to the extremes of climate and temperatures, high noise levels, rotating and vibrating equipment, rough terrain, occasional work on ladders or high platforms, as well as confined spaces that are in varied climatic conditions. Exposure to electrical and mechanical equipment and normal risks associated with operating a motor vehicle. Work may require handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Work maybe in varying heights up to 60 feet. Equipment Operates a wide variety of construction hand & powered (pneumatic, gasoline powered, electric) tools, manual and powered digging tools, hand-held electronic meters & instruments, computer, heavy equipment (e. g., bucket truck, fork lift). Tools and training are furnished by the Company. Employees are represented by a bargaining unit.
