What You'll Do in This Position Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Perform Asbestos Hazards Emergency Response Act (AHERA) building inspections in accordance with Federal, State and Site requirements. Must be able to perform field walkdowns in facilities and be able to obtain facility access qualifications. Physically assess suspect asbestos materials, collect samples and maintain chain of custody. Review facility work packages and related work control processes in support of operations, maintenance and project work evolutions associated with the daily operations of the site asbestos program. Develop schedule for asbestos inspections and write and submit asbestos Inspection Reports in accordance with site procedures and policies to meet regulatory requirements. Capable of researching drawings, technical reports, and engineering guides to understand building designs and construction. Provide regular and consistent operations feedback to the designated Supervisor, Operations Management or Site Asbestos Program Manager. Provide general and direct guidance to employees. Assist less senior personnel with more difficult aspects of work. Provide guidance to less senior employees according to established policies and management guidance Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Clearance Required to Perform Job L Qualifications We Require High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential Other Qualifications Must be able to meet Asbestos Medical Surveillance requirements. Have working knowledge of Word, Excel and Filemaker Pro, be able to obtain RWT II and a demonstrated knowledge of Conduct of Operations, Work Execution Requirements and ISMS. Good verbal and written communication skills.
