The Role

The Business Cards and Payments Marketing team is a passionate and entrepreneurial team of strategists. The Integrated Marketing Team team is focused on developing integrated marketing strategies to communicate the value of our various business card and payment products to prospective and existing customers to drive awareness and consideration.

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team to lead a talented team of strategists in building and delivering end-to-end marketing strategies for our suite of business card and payments products. This person will oversee the strategy, development and execution of marketing in support of our Field Sales team. They will work cross-functionally with teams such as Field Enablement, Product Marketing, Brand Creative, Insights, and more to bring to life impactful marketing collateral to further our sales enablement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of marketing strategists to develop multi-channel, go-to-market strategies and creative campaigns for our field sales team that tell consistent and compelling stories about our broad suite of Capital One Business products.

  • Partner closely with the Field Enablement leaders to define roadmaps and learning agendas to create marketing programs that empower the sales teams to both drive new customer acquisition and current customer retention.

  • Analyze creative performance results, marketplace trends, and customer insights to advance marketing strategies and optimize creatives.

  • Partner with the Insights team to deeply understand the target audience, validate product positioning and messaging, and act as the voice of both the customer and the sales team to the organization.

  • Partner closely with Channel Marketing teams to develop and execute integrated campaign strategies that align back to the product's brand strategy.

  • Oversee the end-to-end creative development with internal creative teams and external agencies to bring product marketing strategy to life.

  • Understand how competitors are evolving their product and messaging strategies, and build strategies that position us for success in the market.

Here's what you'll need to be successful:

  • High level of initiative and ownership, ability to coordinate efforts across diverse functional groups

  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching insights-driven marketing plans and value propositions in support of product roadmaps and objectives.

  • Empathetic leadership skills with a focus on coaching and career development for associates

  • Ability to self-direct and task switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly

  • Succinct, focused written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills

  • Preference to work on highly ambiguous projects - where you are expected to test hypotheses and stand up best practices that don't exist today

  • Diligent listening skills and the ability to adapt approach among diverse audiences to tease out insights and pain points

  • High degree of comfort bringing ideas to the table that might at first seem absurd - then quickly build a case for testing and ultimately a recommendation for pursuit, scaling or abandoning

  • Confidence to ask hard questions and push into uncharted territories - and not defaulting to the status quo before exploring new paths and quantifying risk / reward

THE BIG THREE:

  • Whole Brained - equally analytical and creative, and deftly employing both skills to deliver bold programs that deliver substantive outcomes

  • Fearless Leadership - highly-disciplined self-starter with a strong POV who can positively, effectively lead themselves and others, often in ambiguous and/or new territory

  • Collaboration & Influence - ability to productively partner with a wide variety of teams across the organization to advance our goals and connect marketing activities to the underlying business strategy

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of marketing experience in building and executing go-to-market strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of marketing experience in a fast-paced, technology-forward culture

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience, managing and developing a team of direct or indirect reports

  • 1-2 years of experience in sales enablement marketing supporting a large-sale sales organization
