Vaco is actively seeking a Cloud Security Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a stable and highly respected international organization in Memphis.

Position Summary

The Cloud Security Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures primarily within Azure cloud environments, with an emphasis on automating security and infrastructure management using Terraform.

This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based systems and data by developing and applying security policies, implementing robust infrastructure as code (IaC) strategies, and continuously improving the security posture of the organization's cloud resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage Terraform to manage secure Azure cloud infrastructure, enabling repeatable, scalable, and automated provisioning of resources.
  • Automate the deployment and management of cloud security tools, services, and infrastructure configurations in Azure using Terraform.
  • Collaborate with development and security teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices, ensuring secure and compliant infrastructure deployments.
  • Develop Terraform modules to secure cloud access control and enforce security policies across the Azure environment.
  • Continuously improve infrastructure automation to reduce manual configuration and minimize security risks in the Azure cloud.
  • Create and maintain secure, automated workflows for provisioning, scaling, and managing cloud resources through Terraform.
  • Document event response processes and workflows and security tools, and ensure all resources are accurately represented in diagrams and documentation.
  • Provide expert guidance on the use of Terraform for secure and compliant cloud infrastructure provisioning.

Education & Experience:
  • Strong experience with Terraform, including the design and management of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for security, access control, and cloud resource management within Azure.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure, AWS exposure a plus.
  • Expertise in deploying and configuring security tools, such as vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and integrate security testing into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Solid experience with infrastructure automation and security management using Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), or similar IaC tools.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Instances) and integrating security measures for containers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams to enforce security policies and strategies.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation languages such as Python, Shell, or Bash to extend Terraform functionality.
  • Ability to write SQL queries and develop custom reports and dashboards to monitor security metrics and automate compliance checks.
  • NIST or ISO certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Terraform, Python, Java, C++, or Ruby for scripting automation tasks.
  • Experience working with SQL and cloud-based databases.
  • Familiarity with Terraform-based cloud orchestration and automation practices.
