Job Summary:

Complete assembly, packaging, and crating of equipment in preparation for shipment of orders. Pick, control, and stock received materials and components in an accurate and timely manner. Coordinate the receipt of all incoming freight/materials, conduct inventory transactions, and deliver parts to their corresponding inventory location(s). Maintain deliveries and accuracy of PDQ supermarket, etc.

REQUIRED Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety and PPE requirements per established company policies.
  • Utilize and maintain established inventory systems, such as Kanban or Vendor Managed Inventory
  • Demonstrated understanding of all established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools.
  • Demonstrate competency working in one department
  • Package and crate equipment for shipment utilizing controlled check sheets, order status reports, etc.
  • Assemble assigned products per assembly drawings, work instruction, or Team Leader's instruction.
  • Greet visitors (truck drivers, etc.) at the door and communicate/reinforce established safety procedures (PPE, chocking & blocking, etc.)
  • Move material to floor stock locations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Forklift and/or aisle stacker use to transport/relocate product.
  • Basic Oracle usage - Look up part numbers and locations.
  • Trained in Nail Gun Safety.
  • Ability to work with Engineering on projects and provide feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow nonconformance procedures
  • Communicate and coordinate part shortages with Supervisors.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area utilizing company established 6-S program.
  • Contribute proactively to a team oriented, continuous improvement environment.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Applicable technical training or experience is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • Blueprint reading skills are preferred.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience using hand and power tools is preferred.
  • Basic assembly skills and prior assembly experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.
  • Prior experience using Oracle is preferred.
  • Prior hands-on experience with electrical components is preferred.
  • Completion of basic electricity course is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to accurately interpret point-to-point wiring schematics.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to normal office conditions like telephone, personal computer, reports and files. The employee will also be exposed to normal conditions of a manufacturing facility. The employee will be regularly required to talk or hear. The employee will be required to stand for long periods of time. The employee will use his/her hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 70 pounds. When working on machinery, employee will bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis and constantly move about to coordinate work. The employee is required to regularly set up, adjust, assemble, control, test and operate machinery.
