Job Overview:



This key position on our Global Communications team is responsible for helping develop and execute the company's strategic communications strategy. This role requires a strong writer and strategist, with the ability to develop and execute various communications plans and tactics aligned to support employees and other internal initiatives.


In this role, you will:


  • Manage internal storytelling for the company intranet and other channels, including strategy, writing, and publication.

  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop and deliver engaging content that advances Ingersoll Rand's business priorities and articulates the employee experience.

  • Develop content for specific audiences, including frontline audiences, through targeted messaging and channels.


  • Directly execute written, audio, and video content to drive engagement and support business outcomes.

  • Manage end-to-end content processes, including stakeholder engagement and risk management processes.

  • Leverage data and learnings to continually optimize and improve effectiveness.



The final candidate will have a proven track record of high-quality writing, project management, and working successfully across a highly matrixed, globally dispersed and diverse organization.

Responsibilities:



Content Strategy and Creation

  • Manage internal communications programs and activities including supporting HR communications, executive messaging, company intranet, enterprise emails, leadership talking points, company newsletters, and other communications relating to company benefits, purpose, and values.

  • Support the planning and development of integrated communication strategies and tactics that effectively communicate the vision and goals of strategic initiatives in alignment with the company's growth agenda.

  • Ensure communications are developed, approved, and delivered on time and on budget and assessed with clear metrics.

  • Develop new approaches to deliver content in an engaging way to support staying current with communication trends

  • Ensure timely execution of initiatives per the corporate editorial calendar.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Collaboration and Cross-Functional Deployment

  • Assist in providing strategic communications counsel, guidance, and support to key leaders and stakeholders.

  • Write or edit messages for business partners in support of key initiatives or priorities.

  • Support the management of cross-functional relationships to ensure seamless collaboration.

  • Drive consistency in look, feel, and messaging amongst/across communications, keeping in mind brand standards, and provide advisory support and guidance to key partners.



Engagement and Analytics

  • Monitor and evaluate overall effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics for continuous improvement.

  • Generate fun, creative new ideas to enhance engagement for both the corporate and global employee populations.




Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree


  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, or public relations, preferably within a global or manufacturing context.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and collaboration.

  • Content Development and Storytelling: Expertise in crafting compelling, clear, and engaging content for diverse audiences across multiple channels.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Digital Communication Proficiency: Strong knowledge of digital tools, platforms, and analytics to optimize communication effectiveness.



Preferences:


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Strong core communications skills - writing, editing, speaking, planning, and strategy.

  • Ability to write for a variety of audiences across multiple communication channels/formats/vehicles (print, online, broadcast, social, infographics, surveys).

  • Thoughtful and influential personal style with the ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and business partners.

  • Experience in using technology tools for measurement with frequent, comprehensive, accurate reporting.

  • Ability to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.

  • Experience in change management, with the ability to bring people along on the journey and achieve high levels of understanding and adoption.

  • An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries in communications.

  • Attention to detail, ability to deliver high-quality work.

  • High level of integrity, able to handle confidential information.

  • Proficiency with Canva.




Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements


  • This position will be based at our corporate offices in Davidson, NC, with minimal anticipated travel.
