Overview

Do you consider yourself a highly technical, strong communicator who desires to work in a team environment on complex, deadline-driven projects? Gilbane Development Company is seeking a Marketing and Proposal Specialist to lead and oversee the development of sales deliverables company-wide, including qualifications, proposals, and presentations, as well as lead key strategic sales or property-specific pursuits and select strategic marketing campaigns that align with our business and organizational objectives and support the continued growth of Gilbane. Your role will support Gilbane Development Company's mission of "Developing Dynamic Communities."

Responsibilities

    Lead production, coordination, and management of multiple sales and marketing deliverables simultaneously
  • Accountable for management and development of content for proposals and presentations, as well as ensuring quality control
  • Participate in divisional strategy development sessions with development leadership.
  • Develop qualifications, proposal, and presentation responsibility matrices based on RFQ/P criteria
  • Lead calls with teaming partners and consultants, setting up status calls and draft submission reviews
  • Serve as lead writer for at least cover letters, executive summaries, resumes, project experience, and past performance sections of proposals. Write additional selected proposal sections to incorporate innovative approaches that differentiate and position Gilbane (theme, proposal creativity, staffing matrix, presentation mediums, etc.)
  • Submit the proposal to the client before prescribed deadlines, either digitally or in hard copies
  • Interview team members to identify solutions and value adds to include in sales and marketing materials
  • Attend and participate in brainstorming sessions and market sector planning meetings
  • Monitor and track the timetable of responsibilities assigned to the deliverable production team by identifying and mitigating potential unforeseen time constraints
  • Lead production and coordination of limited, key strategic pursuits
  • Engage in the early assignment of select key strategic deliverables partnered with developers or marketing leads
  • Use independent judgment and professional writing skills to enhance the features, advantages and benefits of Gilbane's capabilities across each market sector - locally and nationally
  • Identify key differentiators and incorporate client drivers into proposals and presentations to provide Gilbane with a competitive advantage
  • In collaboration with the marketing team and developers, develop and implement project-specific events and marketing plan activities
  • Balance short-term proposal priorities with long-term divisional/national marketing initiatives
  • Train and mentor junior staff where applicable
  • Lead maintenance of critical data, perform in-depth research, and develop strategic messaging around projects, team members, and market sectors utilizing our data management systems
  • Bring "best-in-class" knowledge to assigned market sector areas (public-private partnerships ("P3"), affordable housing, student housing, market-rate housing, etc.) through regular participation in pursuits and strategic plan development
  • Lead project-specific events such as groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings, as needed
  • Lead and/or oversee planning and implementation of industry-related tradeshows and conferences, as needed


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications or related field
  • 4-6 years relevant experience
  • Experience in real estate development or AEC industry preferred
  • Experience with public-private partnerships and affordable housing proposals is a big plus
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • You are accountable and comfortable rolling up your sleeves. You are highly organized, work smart, possess strong attention to detail, and can meet deadlines and thrive on getting things done.
  • You communicate and work effectively in a virtual team environment. You will lead pursuits from various markets across the country, requiring flexible work styles - supporting others, coordinating, and working independently.
  • You bring an appreciation for, and familiarity with, data management systems and bring a drive to support, maintain, and interpret data as needed.
  • You prioritize and manage time effectively to lead multiple ongoing responsibilities.
  • You are proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign.
  • You are creative and a visual thinker who will look for ways to create graphics from words, helping our proposal messaging stand out.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Providence, RI this ranges from $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
For New York, NY this ranges from $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
For Arlington, VA this ranges from $90,000.00-$120,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
