To ensure high quality is always at our core, Asante Laboratory Services participates in extensive accreditation programs, including the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and the FDA. Asante laboratories are licensed under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and accredited through CAP. The lab at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) features the following equipment: Total Lab Automation (one of the first sites in the state to offer this feature) Misys LIS; DXC 800; LX 20; DXI; LH 750; Advance; ProVue Automation available in Blood Bank; Automated MIC and Blood Culture Instrumentation in Microbiology Position Summary Our Histology department processes a wide variety of specimens. In addition to routine histology we perform IHC and special stains. We recently brought on two Leica Bond automated IHC platforms. Other exciting changes on the horizon will be a new Pathology lab which will be a 67% increase in our current size, projecting to be in this new space by the start of 2023. The Histotechnician should possess sound organizational skills that support accuracy & attention to detail under stressful, high-paced work conditions. Also, they should encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers & other departments and display collaborative effort to maximize efficiency in daily workflow. As a Histotechnician you will have the opportunity to perform all procedures required to prepare tissue specimens for histological diagnosis by the Pathologist. The Histotechnologist performs all procedures required to prepare tissue specimens for histological diagnosis by pathologist. Qualifications Education Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or equivalent in education and/or experience required for Histotechnician.
