This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Benefits Administrator this position performs the daily administration of the retirement plans, paid time off plans, and health, life and LTD insurance plans for designated communities. This position serves as the contact person for their Community Business Office regarding employee benefits and policies.
The starting salary for this position ranges from $24.25 to $33.70/hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
This position is considered part-time, which is defined as a weekly schedule of four 8-hour days.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Determine eligibility for the Eskaton Health Plan for designated communities providing all materials relative to enrollment for each eligible employee. May serve as back-up for other group plans (i.e.: managed and affiliate communities)
- Monthly coordination of benefit enrollment for newly eligible employees for designated communities.
- Benefit data entry for designated communities into Eskaton's HRIS.
- All benefit form filing.
- Under the direction of the Benefits Administrator will assist with the coordination of the open enrollment planning and material distribution to communities as well as year-end changeover enrollment process.
- In conjunction with Benefits Administrator, keeps all forms for health and welfare, retirement, and credit union updated also insuring current versions are posted electronically in appropriate locations (ex: Eskaton N drive and broker sponsored websites)
- For designated communities, provides timely reports to third party administrator of all coverage terminations so employees may be informed of all continuation rights.
- Provides education to Community Business Office employees on health and welfare, life and disability benefits available to employees, including credit union membership.
- Primary contact for employees with day-to-day transactions for all retirement plans.
- Will be point of contact with auditors and actuaries for annual retirement plan audits.
Qualifications
Education:
High School graduate (or equivalent) required. Some college courses in Human Resources or benefits administration preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Training and Experience:
Prefer minimum two years benefits administration experience with prior experience working with 403(b) or 401(k) retirement plans highly desired. Must be highly proficient in MS Office programs, specifically Word and Excel as well as payroll/HRIS software systems required. Must have exceptional organizational skills and be comfortable presenting in meetings.
Job Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to organize ideas/information and present them clearly both verbally and written.
