Pharmacy Technician III Investigational Drug Service Responsibilities:
  • Following established policies and procedures, filling and delivering prescribed medication orders as directed by a registered pharmacist.
  • Preparing patient medications in accordance with established protocols, methods and techniques.
  • Measuring, mixing and compounding automated TPNs, irrigations, chemotherapy drugs and parenteral and oral medications in specified volumes, dosages and concentrations.
  • Preparing special dilutions of non-controlled and controlled substances, IV and research study medications as needed.
  • Providing training to new technicians and assisting in organizing daily workflow to meet established priorities and production requirements.
  • Filling supply requisitions, restocking pharmacy locations and nursing units.
  • Performing routine quality control and maintaining various records and documentation.

To qualify, you must have:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Registration with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT registered with PTCB).
  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret data.
  • Ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions.
  • The ability to work a rotating schedule including days, evenings as well as weekends and holiday coverage.
