Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Planning & Scheduling Supervisor contributes to the success of the business by utilizing our organization and industries best practices for planning & scheduling.
What you will do:
- Set the example for safety engagement and environmental stewardship
- Support the department long-term maintenance plan and asset management goals
- Help contribute to the management of cost throughout the work approval process, planning process and scheduling process
- Take corrective actions for any safety hazard recognized
- Provide strong leadership qualities and demonstrates the ability to implement positive change
- Effectively supervise personnel and act accordingly. Treat others how you want to be treated and lookout for each other
- A thorough understanding of maintenance and plant operations
- Understanding of maintenance and reliability best practices

- Understand and follow site, company, and governmental policies or standards
- Provide and support cross-functional communications
- Provide and communicate continuous improvement ideas
- Assumes the responsibilities of the Gatekeeper for the sites ERP, "SAP"
- Responsible for releasing or rejecting all maintenance work request to ensure value to the operation
- Approves prioritization of work based on the business need, knowledge of the plant and input from the Operations Maintenance Coordinator
- Approves or challenges any changes to the current weeks scheduling once finalized and maintains clear communication with all parties involved
- Drives consistent application of processes through maintenance and operations to demonstrate effectiveness monitored by key metrics
- Ensures work is assigned the appropriate revision to maintain work management priorities
- Reviews maintenance backlog for duplicate work and rejects any duplicate request
- Provides clear direction to planners to ensure work is being planned in advance of any deadlines set forth by Nutrien work order priority standards
- Works directly with procurement to ensure quotes and materials are being delivered in a timely manner to avoid any scheduling interruptions
- Responsible for the planning backlog and ensures the backlog is being maintained according to Nutrien standards
- Provides clear direction to scheduler to ensure work is being scheduled accordingly based off priority
- Ensures predictive/ preventative maintenance work is scheduled first, followed by routine maintenance work second
- Responsible for the daily work approval meeting, daily schedule update meeting, daily work order release meeting and weekly scheduling meeting
- Work collaboratively with operations to maintain the work management system
- Perform periodic backlog reviews of the work management system
What you will bring:
- 3-5 years supervisory experience
- 3 years planning experience in an ERP
- 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ammonia, urea, or syngas processes a plus
- Knowledge of maintenance budgets, production commitments and cost stewardship a plus
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc
