Position: Structural Engineer Company: Applied Technologies, Inc. Location: Brookfield, WI or Lake Villa, IL If you are a skilled Structural Engineer interested in doing 'out-of-the-box' design work, this may be the right opportunity for you! At Applied Technologies, our Structural Engineers are integral to every phase of a project, from initial concept to completion. We design innovative structures, assess loads, and ensure the highest standards of structural integrity. Our collaborative, multidisciplinary approach begins with a comprehensive project review and continues through the execution of detailed reports, plans, and specifications-always meeting deadlines and staying within budget. Applied Technologies offers autonomous work experience in a consultative environment focused on a variety of projects, limited travel, and a hybrid work schedule. This position can be at our Brookfield, WI, or Lake Villa, IL office. Key Responsibilities: Review and critique technical specifications of all structural plans and designs Measure loads and pressures caused by environmental and/or human factors Analyze various materials based on structural specifications recommending the most effective method Create structural models by using computer-aided design software Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and government agencies regarding construction Ensure building and equipment specifications comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and codes Communicate with clients throughout the project process and beyond to foster current and ongoing business relationships Adhere to project deadlines and budgets, communicating any variances to the Project Manager promptly Position Qualifications: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering emphasis, required 3 plus years of experience designing safe, efficient, and effective structures Proficient in technical writing with strong attention to detail Knowledge of construction methods and regulations Willingness to obtain PE Certification if not already achieved Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, AutoCAD experience is a plus Benefits: Applied Technologies provides a competitive pay and benefits package, including health, dental, and 401K, vision, and other wellness benefits.
