Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Annapolis on a hybrid basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or professionals with 1-2 years of experience who are eager to launch or further their career in accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position must meet tight deadlines in a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, audit and internal controls.

What You Will Work On

• Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports.
• Collaborate and liaise with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable on coding and accounting related issues.
• Responsible for accurate Project based Accounting and reporting.
• Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial data and identify trends to support business decisions.
• Assist in the preparation of audit materials and liaise with auditors as required.
• Participate in financial forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
• Handle other ad hoc accounting projects and duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Recent graduate or up to 1-2 years of accounting experience (internship experience considered).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (experience with NetSuite would be a plus).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
