Job Summary:



This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and impactful clinical research team at an intermediate professional level. As an Intermediate Clinical Science Professional, you will play a key role in managing and supporting clinical trials and research studies that explore patient-oriented topics such as mechanisms of human disease, therapeutic interventions, clinical outcomes, and the development of new technologies. Your work will directly contribute to improving healthcare outcomes, as you assist in research across a variety of studies, from clinical trials to epidemiologic and behavioral investigations. The role will offer you independence and responsibility in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing patient recruitment, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, all while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee day-to-day operations of clinical trials and research studies, ensuring study protocols and timelines are adhered to.
  2. Screen and enroll study participants, including obtaining medical histories, reviewing inclusion/exclusion criteria, and confirming eligibility for clinical trials.
  3. Manage the informed consent process, ensuring participants are fully informed and that all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulatory standards.
  4. Coordinate participant scheduling, ensuring that the necessary research support (e.g., physicians, lab, radiology, pharmacy) and study space are available.
  5. Collect, code, and analyze study data, ensuring timely and accurate processing in accordance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintain detailed study records, ensuring compliance with clinical research protocols and relevant regulatory guidelines.
  7. Act as Primary Coordinator on multiple clinical trials, taking on leadership responsibilities and ensuring smooth coordination across all phases of study implementation.
  8. Support junior team members by providing training, guidance, and support on study procedures, regulatory standards, and daily operations.
  9. Assist in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives, contributing to process optimization and the continual enhancement of research practices.


This role provides a strong foundation for professionals looking to deepen their expertise in clinical research while offering the independence to manage multiple aspects of research projects. You'll work closely with research leads, faculty, and healthcare professionals, making meaningful contributions to advancing clinical science and improving patient outcomes.



Work Location:



Hybrid -this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of at least 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications

Entry:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field


Intermediate:



  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
  • Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)


Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

Entry: $47,743-$60,729

Intermediate: $51,956-$66,088

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
