Compensation

Pay Rate: $29.01 Per Hour

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the concrete plant, along with the coordination of drivers engaged in the delivery of concrete.

Safety
  • Participating actively in company safety programs, including Safety Huddles, one-on-one safety conversations, and reporting of close calls
  • Fostering the safety culture by making good/safe decisions
  • Following all safety policies and procedures, including LOTOTO, Motor Vehicle Policy, Drug & Alcohol Policy, etc
Quality
  • Identifying and capturing opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability
  • Ensuring consistency in the product
  • Incorporating the proper raw materials
  • Ensuring consistence in controls
Functional Technical Skills
  • Receiving orders for concrete
  • Coordinating and scheduling concrete deliveries
  • Enter all orders into Command Alkon within 1 hour of order received.
  • like locking up at night fuel and gate.
  • Also taking accurate inventory every month,
  • making daily deposit and managing payments.
  • Ensuring customers get accurate product and pricing based on their bid or request
  • Minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment productivity
  • Coordinating preventive maintenance on plant, including planning, documenting, and recording of scheduled maintenance.
  • Coordinating necessary repairs outside of preventive maintenance
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the plant- inside the operator's shack and outside
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of materials, including additives, fuel, and cement to meet daily production needs, and report accurate monthly inventory.
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of the plant in terms of fuel and power usage
  • Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner preventative measures and improve reliability
  • Diagnosing faults in the plant and correcting them in a timely manner
  • Assist Plants Manager, Shop Manager and location Superintendents in establishment of maintenance budgets and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain Shop and Mfg Equip. reporting (mobile and stationary) in JDE
  • Manages stocks of supplies and equipment for maintenance
  • Operates Ready Mix trucks as circumstances require to aide in the efficiency of delivery, or plant closure
Teamwork/Communication

  • Ensuring an open line of communication between the Plant Superintendent, Quality Control, and Ready Mix Drivers

Education And Minimum Experience
  • GED or high school diploma
  • Experience in a similar role in plant operation and coordination of schedules
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License B
Working Conditions And Physical Demands
  • Variable hours and shifts (including Saturdays as needed)
  • Work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Sit for hours at a time
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Out of town travel possible w/ trainings/seminars
  • Operates small tools, as well as performs maintenance on plants
  • Exposed to mechanical equipment and moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration
  • Noise level is moderate
