Under general supervision of the Operations Manager, incumbent establishes, manages, and monitors standards and processes; communicates and trains on systems to ensure departmental guidelines are adhered to and upheld to the MGH Imaging Department standards.
Incumbent will be responsible for all duties listed below and work closely with stakeholders to ensure quality management and standard operating procedures. Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for daily site management and personnel management. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for preparation of the Yearly State/FDA inspection Performs in the capacity as a liaison for all MGH mammography satellites; Responsible for maintaining the BI shared drive for offsite access ensuring all personnel documentation is up to date for inspections Perform and oversee the Main Campus equipment Quality Control Acts as a cohesive team member for standardization of BI workflow and state/MQSA compliance requirements throughout the BI enterprise Develop workflow documents for technologist education and training, responsible for new staff training Provides immediate supervision to all radiology technical personnel assigned. Ensures proper quality and quantity of work done by unit members; prepares daily work schedule assuring adequate coverage and reassigns personnel as required to ensure efficient service. Monitors, investigates, reports, and follows up on technical call back issues to the Operations Manager Assures proper documentation of staff personnel for billing and compliance purposes, including exam completion in Epic and transmission of images in Visage. Records include requisitions. Communicates and coordinates with staff of previous and next shift regarding equipment problems, waiting patients and other like information. Communication to contract service personnel for equipment repairs. Ensures proper stock and organization of clinical supplies, office supplies, and linens. Interviews, hires, orients, and supervises all technical and clinical support of the designated unit. Provides immediate supervision and corrective action (as needed), assigns work, evaluates performance, and ensures on-going training. Functions as patient-care provider when necessary. Serves as a liaison between physicians and support staff, explaining departmental procedures, resolving problems and coordinating activities which affect patient care. Ensures all information regarding procedural or operational changes in the unit is communicated to appropriate Department and Hospital personnel. Prepares and implements work schedules and project plans; includes work assignments and emergency coverage for evenings, and weekends. Completes weekly time sheets; approves time off always ensuring adequate staffing. Responsible for all time tracking and reporting of payroll in KRONOS. Participates in evaluations and recommendations regarding additional equipment and technical protocols; coordinates new testing procedures and in coordination with the QA Managers ensures all protocols are up to date. Works closely with the Operations Manager and Department Director in identifying present and future needs of the BI division Prepares reports for senior management on all aspects of Unit operations as appropriate or as requested. Coordinates preventive maintenance schedules for imaging and computer equipment with vendor service personnel; notifies same of equipment failure. Ensure that all Unit, Department, Hospital and JCAHO guidelines are met. Ensures all clinical licenses and ARRT documentation are on file and maintained in Peoplesoft. Assists with ACR accreditation Work directly with vendors on resolving equipment issues impacting Quality Assurance Upholds hospital/departmental mission of patient care, teaching, and research. Maintains positive working relationship with Main hospital staff, and radiologists as well as referring physicians Participates in the annual budget process and presentation SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Required: 3-5 years of supervisory experience in Breast imaging and proficiency in BI Imaging equipment, techniques and procedures.
