Associate Scientist

Advantage Technical is seeking a Process Chemistry Specialist for our client onsite in Cambridge, MA!



Pay Rate: $40-$43 per hour

Employment Type: Temporary contract, 6-12 months with the possibility of extension!

Overview:

The Process Chemistry group seeks a talented and motivated individual to contribute to the process development and in-house non-GMP manufacture of modified oligonucleotides and siRNAs. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge technologies within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Non-GMP Production: Support the production of oligonucleotides on accelerated timelines.
• Purification Development: Assist in the development, optimization, and scale-up of purification methods.
• Oligonucleotide Purifications: Execute purification processes to ensure product quality.
• Downstream Processing: Conduct downstream processing of purified materials.
• In-Process Analytics: Perform analytical tests to monitor and validate production processes.
• Documentation: Participate in drafting and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and batch records.
• Cross-Functional Support: Provide support for campaign activities in other operational units as needed.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with 1-3 years of laboratory experience, preferably in an industrial setting.

Technical Expertise:

• Basic understanding of analytical techniques, including pH, osmolality, conductivity measurements, HPLC, LC-MS, etc. Hands-on experience with these techniques is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of oligonucleotide manufacturing processes, such as phosphoramidite chemistry, chromatography, and ultrafiltration, is a strong advantage.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrated experience in record-keeping and laboratory documentation practices.
• Commitment to Quality: Ability to uphold high laboratory and scientific standards, maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment, and assist in routine lab and equipment maintenance.
• Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills and a proactive, responsible attitude. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
