Summary:

University College supports Temple's mission by providing high quality education to its students that is accessible, affordable, diverse, and engaged with the broader community across its campuses at Ambler, Center City, Harrisburg, Main Campus, and online. University College serves learners of all ages and backgrounds by delivering credit, non-credit, training, and continuing education programs both on and off campus, as well as online. The University College seeks to build capacity and support the unique strengths of each location in response to regional needs with educational programs as well as space and services for conferences, training, and other events for both internal and external clients. The Associate Director will be responsible for financial operations, as well as advanced administrative support, for non-credit and continuing education programs, and all University College sponsored projects. This position will provide financial and analytical oversight to noncredit and continuing education programs, providing support for financial business case development and analysis for entrepreneurial programs and initiatives. The Associate Director will work with University College leadership to manage the financial operations of the Harrisburg campus. The Associate Director supports the sponsored projects within University College by partnering with our staff to provide high-quality, pre- and post-award support to investigators as they seek to secure and manage funding by working collaboratively with grant writers, proposal development staff, the Office of Research Administration, and the funder to ensure the timely submission of grant proposals within Temple systems for review and approval. Pre-award support includes, but is not limited to, assisting PIs with the preparation of grant applications and budgets, tracking the proposal development progress through submission, and assisting in other pre-award activities. On behalf of the staff, the incumbent will routinely interact with sponsor contacts, the University's central offices, and collaborating institutions as needed.

The Associate Director will work closely with the University College Associate Director for Finance and Planning to ensure coordinated submissions of materials for the University College including budget development, management and tracking, forecasting and reporting, and for monitoring performance metrics, financial planning, and financial data management. The Associate Director will develop and monitor unit protocols to ensure compliance with University policies and external funder fiscal procedures and requirements.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a finance- related field with higher education financial management and accounting experience preferred and at least five years related grant management/administrative experience.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Preferred:

* -Master's degree in a finance- related field with higher education financial management and accounting experience.

Required skills and abilities

Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision and guidance

* Must be analytical and organized; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines

* Proficiency in Excel, Word and internet research

* Solid customer service skills are needed as well as the ability to work successfully as a member of a team.

* Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization

* Familiarity with MS Office Suite and similar products

* Require a high proficiency with financial modeling and analysis via Microsoft Excel

* Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills

* Ability to maintain confidentiality as this role interfaces with sensitive information

* Knowledge of higher education financial and budgeting principles

* Up to date knowledge of uniform guidance and other federal guidelines

* Frequent direct interaction with University faculty, senior administrators and staff, as well as with external funders

* The volume and diversity of assignments demands the ability to effectively prioritize work and focus on the completion of tasks
