SECTOR OVERVIEW

Our Environmental Sector delivers comprehensive environmental solutions to meet the full project lifecycle needs of clients in renewable energy, oil & gas, transportation, and manufacturing industries. With one of the largest multimedia air and land permitting and compliance teams in the country, we support client success in manufacturing and industry, liquids delivery and processing, natural gas storage and delivery, power generation and delivery, and transportation projects.

POSITION SUMMARY

TRC is seeking an Environmental Planner for our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice in San Ramon, CA.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Will function as a staff member responsible for reviewing vegetation management units on federal, state and local agency managed lands (USFS, USFWS, CSP, CDFW, etc.), preparing packages of vegetation units for environmental review, and preparing other related documentation.
  • Work could also include project compliance management for quality control/assurance, timeframe/milestone management, and proposal support.
  • Prepare reports, specifications, applications, and correspondence with clear communication to management and clients.
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of management and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Must have a commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Abide by Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Urban/Regional Planning, Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-7 years of relevant and associated body of work.
  • Strong written communication skills for preparing clear and accurate permit applications, reports, and correspondence with agencies.
  • Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills to ensure accuracy and completeness in all submissions and documentation.
  • Basic proficiency in GIS software or similar mapping tools to review, analyze, and present geographic data for vegetation management planning.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well in a team and individual setting.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and maintain excellent organization of individual project work.
  • Possess strong organizational and computer skills (GIS, Google Earth, document manipulation, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain professionalism in communications with the client, regulatory agencies, and other potential stakeholders
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to TRC's insurance carrier.
  • Preference will be given to applicants that have experience working on energy, transportation, and construction projects involving CEQA and NEPA, Clean Water Act permitting programs, and other local, state, and federal permitting programs.
  • Applicants with a degree or certification in land planning are preferred.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
