As a SUPERVISOR, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING, you are responsible FOR LEADING A MEDIUM SIZE (5 TO 10 ASSOCIATES) GROUP OF TECHNICIANS INVOLVED IN A SPECIALIZED FIELD OF MAINTENANCE REQUIRING HIGHLY DEVELOPED MECHANICAL, AUTOMATION, DATA ANALYSIS, AND TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLSETSin the MANUFACTURING NORTH FACILITY at FORT WORTH, TEXAS (US).

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Responsible for the proper maintenance of critical systems manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to, water pretreatment systems, PW/WFI systems, terminal sterilizers, chilled water/hot water pump stations, heat exchangers, HVAC, transfer pumps, storage vessels, plant steam, pure clean steam, calibrated devices, electrical systems, and general facilities' upkeep.

  • Direct supervision of non-exempt staff. Complete regular one on ones, probationary reviews, and annual reviews.

  • Provides guidance & oversight for mechanic-owned upgrades and improvements, provides specifications and scheduling for contractors.

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction to the department as well as oversight of day-to-day operational activities.

  • Assure equipment meets all quality and regulatory standards. Promote, maintain, and improve operational safety.

  • Responsible for meeting defined Preventative Maintenance schedules and achieving departmental labor efficiency targets.

  • Develop and execute training strategy.

  • Monitor Associate morale and keep management informed of current issues.

  • Monitor disciplinary issues as required in conjunction with Department Management and HR.

  • Champion process and quality improvement projects (including Lean Six Sigma) as assigned by department management.

  • Monitor spend in department and adhere to allotted budget. Take measures to identify and reduce waste.

  • Ensure continual Quality System compliance by adherence to established Alcon requirements.

  • Ensure that the appropriate root cause analysis tools are used when leading non-conformance investigations.

  • Leads continuous improvement projects (including capital-driven initiatives).

  • Ensures all work conforms to current Good MFG Practices (GMP) and meets all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Maintains a preventative maintenance program to ensure thorough and regular inspection of all equipment and utilities as well as production support equipment.

  • Ensures preventive maintenance procedures are developed from standardized maintenance guidelines, have a long-term strategic outlook, and are complete and effective.

  • Ensures work is completed in a timely and correct manner with accurate documentation and attention to detail.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc.+6 yrs.; M.S.+0 yrs)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience

  • Work hours: Exempt - Monday through Friday from - 7:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.

  • Travel Requirements: 0 to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Technical expertise in manufacturing utilities and equipment.
