**This position requires a 2 hour long inpatient coding assessment, you will NEED you own encoder and/or coding books to pass this assessment. Please do not apply to this job posting if you do not have the resources for a coding assessment.**
*Job Description* - Will log in to work queues & start applying their codes - Will have to defend their own audits - Will write their own queries which is a request made additional information from the physician which is then used to determine the best way of coding the clinical services provided for insurance purposes. - Will not query if it doesn't effect DRG or if CDI does a query, but they have to review & question it. - EMR is EPIC and encoder is 3M. 6-month contract to hire Start date: TBD *Equipment is NOT provided* They are broken into regional and university facilities, so candidates will need to be able to shift around to support different hospitals. Average length of stay is 3-5 days (there are variances). *Performance:* - Productivity standard: high dollar work queue is 1.25 accounts per hour. LTAC and rehab are similar. Up to 2-2.25 per hour for everything else. - Quality standard: 95% (meet) on DRG is what reviews are done on/96-97% is exceeds, 98% is commendable. 89% on PCS, 91-92% on total coding will lead to a review. *Training:* - The individual will be set up in EPIC University which will require them to pass an EPIC assessment. Afterwards, they will work with the DRG Auditor and Coding Manager via Zoom to go over the system and specific nuances. Someone with prior experience should be good to go within the week (no more than two). *Work Environment* Candidates have to reside in one of these states (preferred): Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin. There is a work from home agreement where they do have to commit to core hours. Some staff the works from 2am or 4am, so there's a lot of flexibility - especially when someone is meeting their productivity. If someone has a sick child & needs to be monitored, they have flexibility to make changes to their schedule to accommodate. They also do not provide equipment, so they will need at least a laptop; however, dual screens will make the tasks easier.
